Flash Fiction Friday III

Yes, it’s Flash Fiction Friday!

If you’re not familiar with the rules, you can find them here.

This week’s prompt is:

Write a letter to your unborn grandchild.

That’s it! Easy-peasy. Post your link in the comments, and I’ll read each and every story. Check back Monday for market recommendations.

Most of all, have fun!

*Addendum: Like I said in the comments, this can be fiction or non-fiction, set in the present, past or future, or even told from a different POV — say that of your own grandmother writing to you.  Think outside the box!

  1. ah, lala. it doesn’t have to be optimistic. you can write as if the child is any age, not just a baby. set it in the future, way in the past, or in a specific location. it doesn’t have to be non-fiction, it can be fiction. write as if your grandmother were writing for YOU.

there’s a lot of wriggle room, chicklet.

do you honestly think i was optimistic throughout the GC’s pregnancy?

    yarite.

  2. Hey there rt, I write when you write, remember??? C’mon now, I am here and I will be checking back and checking on YOU!

This time I beat you to a little flash fiction…

“Write down this memory, as it’s
a passing image, bringing warmth and a smile,” I say to myself. A remembered
    letter from my mother
to me, back from a day when I asked about the grandmother I had known for too short a time.
“Your grandmother loved you so,” my mom wrote to me. “From the the time you were
unborn, until the day she left,” it continued. “A
grandchild is something not everyone is lucky enough to have, but a grandmother…one like yours…is rarer than catching a falling star.”

    shennaniganss last blog post..exciting times
